Hope Report: June 2022

In June, Native Hope continued its outreach and assistance efforts to different communities throughout South Dakota. Thanks to you, Native Hope continues to create a meaningful impact on the individuals and organizations within Indian Country.

NAtive Hope Outreach

We delivered trailers full of boxes containing clothing, hygiene, household items, and other much-needed supplies to Lower Brule Tribal Hall, the Rock Creek Community on the Standing Rock Reservation, and Families Working Together in Wanblee. In addition to the trailers, we also supplied Families Working Together with gardening gloves and shears for a food foraging event for their community.

Assistance Requests

• As prices continue to increase, our daily requests for food and hygiene packs increased in June. We assisted 57 individuals in ONE DAY ALONE!
• Native Hope Fellow, Jama, joined us in Ft. Thompson to provide groceries for families going through hard times.
• Hilltop Baptist Church, in Lower Brule, SD, requested baby supplies, such as diapers, wipes, formula and hygiene items.
• As the heat continues to rise, so does the need for fans. This month we continued to supply fans to the Lower Brule community.
• The Ft. Thompson Wowasake Wellness Center requested assistance with fruit and water for their Health Fair.
